Salutatorian Jenny Piciw
Sacred Heart Academy is filled with so many bright young ladies who strive to do their best every single day. This is why it is such an amazing honor to be a part of the top five. This year, Jennifer Piciw was announced Salutatorian, ranked second in her graduating class.
Piciw described the moment she was announced in front of the whole school, saying “When I found out, I was shocked. Everyone here is so smart and I have so much respect for each of them as my peers. They have struggled with me through the hardest classes. I couldn’t have succeeded without their help and support.” Speaking of classes, Jennifer says her favorite classes this year were AP Government with Mr. Marino as well as AP Calculus BC with Mrs. Gniadek. While taking so many challenging courses, there must be something that inspires one to work so hard and never give up. For Jennifer, this is her own self-motivation. She explains, “If you let other people push you to succeed then you will only go as far as they can imagine you going.” She goes on to say many teachers at SHA have inspired her to achieve her goals, just like they have achieved theirs. Jennifer also mentioned how her faith has grown throughout her years at Sacred Heart, since she also learned more about herself. She adds, “It is okay to question your faith, or anything in life, because it ultimately strengthens it.”
Jennifer will be attending University of Richmond and majoring in biochemistry and molecular biology. Congratulations to Jennifer and to the entire class of 2016! You will be missed!
