Fall Dance

The highly anticipated annual fall dance has finally arrived at Sacred Heart Academy. Girls have been preparing for this event since as early as the preceding summer. It is truly something to look forward to after a taxing first marking period. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors along with their escorts gathered at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington for a night of delicious food, dancing, and socializing. Unlike previous years, dates were necessary, but multiple exceptions were made if this arrangement was not possible. There was a particularly great turnout this year, and student council’s executive board did a fantastic job of managing to accommodate everyone. All attendees raved about the evening and genuinely enjoyed themselves.
As custom, the sisters and teachers greeted couples upon arrival before entering the banquet hall. After introductions, there was a bit of time before dinner to make conversation with acquaintances, take pictures, and be seated. Dinner was served in the form of a buffet and everyone treated themselves. There was a great variety of foods to choose from—from pasta to pizza—and milkshakes available all night. Once everyone had finished their meal, the lights were dimmed and music flooded the hall. The floor was filled as the crowd danced to their favorite songs, including classics like Cupid’s “Cupid Shuffle” and Flo Rida’s classic “Apple Bottom Jeans.” Many took a break to enjoy dessert, which featured an ice cream station, and proceeded to dance again afterwards. Group photos of members of the various extracurricular activities at Sacred Heart Academy, such as the musical and sports, were taken throughout the event.
All of the ladies and gentlemen who attended the dance looked dazzling in their formal attire. Numerous compliments were given by the Aqua Turf’s staff regarding the students’ decorum. Attendees were said to be polite and respectful. In addition, prayers go out to the individual Sacred Heart Academy had hired for the photo booth who had a medical emergency. Despite minor obstacles, this year’s fall dance was a success and it seems as though everyone is already planning for next year!
