Madison “Maddy” Clark of Seymour, better known as the famous Clark the Shark, is the only person on our SHA gymnastics team and is exceeding everyone’s expectations. Last year she debuted her team-of-one and fantastically represented SHA. Maddy placed first in the all-around competition at last year’s SCC Championship. She also placed fifth in the floor exercises at the State Open and proceeded to qualify for the New England championships. As if that was not enough for her one-woman show, Maddy also earned the title of Register’s Area MVP.

This year she keeps racking up awards. She has competed in eight high school meets traveling with Nonnewaug High School. Maddy placed third all-around at the SCC Championship. She is also qualified for State Opens in the all-around again! The even more unbelievable part?—If she is qualified for State Opens, it means she was placed in the top 20 in the state! As of right now, she is ranked in 10th place in the state out of the 139 other girls who also competed in the all-around competition. The results of Maddy’s performance from her meet on Saturday, February 4th will determine if she will advance to State Opens. Come support Maddy at her upcoming meets and show your SHA Shark pride!
