One of the many highlights of our school’s community is the clubs SHA has to offer. Clubs allow students to get involved, make new friends, and have something to do when they cannot leave school right away. This year has already been filled with fun and engaging events hosted by clubs that SHA girls love. Here are some of things students have to say.
Interviewer: “What club(s) are you in, and what do you do in them?”
Student #1: “I am currently involved with Sister to Sister through Campus Ministry. Once a month, we go down to the manor and do activities with the retired sisters. In December, we decorated cookies for Christmas and talked about our traditions. The sisters are so sweet, and it is interesting hearing their stories and backgrounds.”
Student #2: “I am a part of Shades of SHA. The club spends a lot of time talking about diversity and inclusiveness, which is extremely important, especially in today’s world. One of our most recent events was the annual potluck. Everyone contributed by bringing different foods from different cultures. It was a great time and great food! I also am part of the Data club where we learn about coding and get to hear from many guest speakers.”
Student #3: “Right now, I am part of the Drama Guild. We are currently putting together “Women playing Hamlet” and it has been lots of fun so far. Besides the play, we are also working on hosting a karaoke night later in the year. Theater at SHA is something special, and with Drama Guild I still get to stay involved, even after the musical’s closing.
As you can see, this school year has been a major success for clubs. With the variety of clubs, there is something for everyone! Take this as a sign to explore new interests, people, and passions to make the most out of your four years at SHA.
