As Sacred Heart Academy settled into the holiday season, the annual Christmas Concert took place on December 8, 2024. This joyous occasion was the perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit. Our SHA community and families gathered to watch our school’s talented musicians and singers perform. The Choir, Madrigal Choir, Handbells, and Orchestra had diligently prepared to perform exciting and festive songs.
The concert featured a variety of holiday classics. The Choir performed songs such as Christmas Time Is Here, Mary, Did You Know?, Joy to the World, and many more popular songs. The Madrigal Choir performed That’s Christmas to Me and All I Want for Christmas Is You which had a special solo performance by Persephone Delaney. The Choir’s performance of Angels’ Carol was a special part of the concert as it featured Zoe Lee on the harp and a dance by Addisyn Kozoski. These talented performers truly embodied the Christmas spirit.
The Handbells always are a special addition to the Christmas Concert. This concert they played a beautiful rendition of Away in the Manger. The sounds of the ringing bells were truly enchanting. The Orchestra brought even more festive cheer, performing Let It Snow! and Feliz Navidad. There also was a special collaboration between the Choir and Orchestra, as they performed Angels We Have Heard on High. This beautifully arranged song united our school community.
A thank you goes out to all the students in the Choir, Handbells, and Orchestra for their dedication and hard work in preparing for this event. Of course, this concert would not have been possible without the many supporters who contributed behind the scenes. Special thanks to Sister Sheila, Sister Kathleen, Mr. Cordero, Mr. Earl, and Mrs. DelVecchio for their support and preparation. Finally, the deepest gratitude goes to our Director of Music, Mrs. M. She has been working with the Choir, Handbells, and Orchestra throughout the semester to ensure this would be a heartwarming concert for all.
